How long will my corset take to arrive?

As each corset is made to order, firstly a pattern needs to be made to your shape, and then the garment constructed from the pattern. Specific materials may need to be obtained before we can commence construction.

Due to the level of work involved we ask that you allow 28 days for delivery.

How much is it for P&P?

Our standard delivery charge is £4.95 on all orders. Orders are boxed for maximum protection in delivery.

We do not offer offer free delivery as we prefer not to hide our costs within our product prices, letting you see what is included in the price.

(However we do sometimes offer Free P&P promotions, follow us on Facebook to be kept informed.)

You will be notified as your corset is despatched. We use a Signed For Royal Mail Service which usually delivers within 2-4 working days. If your delivery is more urgent, we are happy to arrange a speedier service, including Next Day and Saturday deliveries, with prices available upon request.

I need it sooner, what can I do?

Telephone us before you place your order online, we can sometimes prioritise an order depending on our workload. Please bear in mind we have peak seasons to contend with where our workshop is particularly busy, however we will always aim to meet your deadline where possible.

How can I pay for my corset?

We accept all major credit and debit cards online via the secure online payment system Stripe.  For more information about stripe click here to view the security information click here.

You can also pay by cheque or postal order, however your order will not be processed until payment has cleared.

How can I be sure to order the correct size?

Please ensure that you measure yourself, or better still get someone to do it for you, to guarantee you are using your current measurements.

Do not guess! A corset cannot be altered once made.

Check our Sizing page, for Overbust Corsets, ienter your bust, underbust, waist and hip measurements as requested. For Underbust Corsets please enter your underbust, waist and hip measurements.

If you wish to reduce your waistline by up to 4 inches, you must enter the final measurement after the required inches have been taken off. (That is, if you have a 34” waist but want to reduce by a full 4”, you must enter 30” as your waist measurement)

I'm not a standard shape/size!

Don't worry!  Guinevere's Chamber was set up for exactly this reason,  as I was unable to find a corset to fit comfortably! This is why all our corsets are a minimum of semi bespoke, working from individual measurements.

If however you are worried that we will struggle to offer a solution for your statistics, or have any other concerns about your corset, it is recommended that you discuss directly with us our Bespoke Service.

What is a modesty panel?

This is a piece of coordinating fabric which sits behind the lacing, avoiding the skin showing through. All our corsets are sized allowing an approximate 1 - 2" gap to highlight the lacing. If you do not wish your corset to be open at the back, please either order the option with a modesty panel. Our modesty panels incorporate a single steel bone (to the unattached side) to ensure that the panel does not move around whilst being worn.

I'm not sure the colour is correct.

We understand that digital photography can sometimes be misleading, we do try to advise if this is particularly the case on a certain product. However, should you be unsure or are looking to match an outfit etc, we are often able to provide a small sample patch. Please contact us to confirm that the fabric you require is available.

We only make corsets, however if you are looking to create a whole outfit, we are often able to supply some of our fabrics by the metre, at a very reasonable cost If you are interested in purchasing the matching fabric, please contact us for a price.

(eg, the duchesse satins used in the Classic ranges, which look stunning head to toe)

I can't see a suitable design/colour.

Looking for a specific colour, often our standard designs can be available in other colours than advertised. Talk to us, we may be able to help!

Or have you got something particular in mind? Have an idea but nothing quite matches the occasion, contact us regarding our Bespoke Service.

Do you have a shop I can visit?

Unfortunately we do not have any premises open to the public, as we are an online seller, however we do undertake a number of shows/exhibitions over the year, contact us to see where we are next as you may be able to visit us there! Our Bespoke Service also allows for home visits, within our region if required.

Can I try before I buy?

A corset is a very personal garment, made to fit the individual wearer and therefore not suitable for the next person. For this reason a garment requires payment before delivery as we cannot accept returns without just reason.

Will it be uncomfortable to wear?

A corset is meant to restrict the wearer, and our tight lacing corsets are designed to do just such. Wearing a corset for the first time, may take some getting used to, and the laces may need to be gradually tightened, however a corset should not be too uncomfortable and never painful to the wearer if the correct sizing is ordered. Do not order a corset with more than a 2-4” waist reduction.

Care

All our corsets are handmade using fine quality fabrics, and steel boning, they are not designed for machine washing.

We would suggest that small marks may be sponged where possible from cotton fabrics and PVC's. However any satins, taffetas and textured fabrics may watermark, and therefore this is not recommended.

A fabric freshener may be spritzed from a distance over the inside lining, however do not allow the corset to become too wet as this may encourage rusting of the steel bones.

Some fabrics may allow you to dry clean your garment infrequently, but consider this only under the advice of your Dry Cleaning Specialist.

Always allow your garment to air following wearing (by hanging by the laces over a wire/wooden coathanger), before replacing into store.

Quality

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY

                 'QUALITY HANDMADE GARMENTS' ?

Initially, an individual pattern will be made from your given measurements.

The garment will then be hand cut from a range of quality fabrics, the finished corset will have a minimum of three layer construction.

Ultra strong and non-stretch, Coutil - the essential corsetry fabric -  will be used within the lining of your garment to ensure your garment withstands tight lacing, and remains in good shape.

In addition, a lighter cotton twill may be used to create the inside layer, providing a softer finish next to the skin.

Only durable steel boning will be used in the construction of your corset, both wide and narrow steels are used in each corset, sometimes with the addition of spiral steels offering more comfort and shape enhancement around the bust area. The exact combination used will vary upon style and body shape.

Comfortable and secure boning will be channeled into the corset itself ensuring bones do not protrude, and top and bottom triple stitching will ensure that they do not escape.

Lacing holes are sealed after punching to ensure no fray, before best quality eyelets are fitted both for comfort against the skin, and strength required in tight lacing garments. The strong non-slip corsetry laces used are also tipped to avoid fray.

Finally, your corset is finished by hand from a wide variety of either simple, or extravagant, quality trimmings.
